How Minoo Works

Minoo's Elder Support Program connects Elders with volunteers through a simple, coordinator-supported process.

For Elders Needing Help

  1. Submit a request — Tell us what you need: a ride, help with groceries, yard work, or a friendly visit. You can submit online or have someone submit on your behalf.
  2. A coordinator reviews your request — A community coordinator in your area looks at your request and finds an available volunteer nearby.
  3. A volunteer reaches out — The matched volunteer contacts you at the phone number you provided to arrange the details.
  4. Follow-up — After the visit, the coordinator checks in to make sure everything went well.

Request Help

For Volunteers

  1. Sign up — Share your name, phone number, availability, and the types of help you can offer.
  2. Get matched — A coordinator assigns you to requests that fit your location and availability.
  3. Provide support — Connect with the Elder, arrange the details, and help out.
  4. Mark complete — Let the coordinator know when the visit is done.

Volunteer

Requesting on Behalf of an Elder

Family members, friends, or community workers can submit requests on behalf of an Elder. When doing so:

  • Check the "I'm requesting on behalf of an Elder" box on the request form
  • Provide the Elder's name
  • Confirm that the Elder has given permission for the request

This ensures the Elder knows about and consents to receiving volunteer support.
